THERAPURE -- OZONE SMELL?

I just bought the Therapure 200 (?) and while it's quiet on the low speed, it's hard to really tell how well it's working since we bought it to deal with the incredible PM 2.5 pollution in Salt Lake City. But there's definitely a worrisome ozone smell on the high and medium speeds, a little like an open sharpie pen. I'm wondering if we've traded one bad thing for another.
