Lennox Healthy Climate Air Cleaner - Do I need 2 of them?

My wife has severe allergies and asthma. Our HVAC company recommended the Lennox Heathly Climate 16 mdia air cleaner.

We have a ranch style house with a walk out basement. The main level has a large heat pump unit and the lower level has a smaller one. If I install the air cleaner only on the large main level unit, will it still be a whole house air cleaner or would I also have to install one on the lower level unit?
