Ionic Breeze Air Purifier from Sharper Image

Almost ten years ago now I purchased an Ionic Breeze Air Purifier from Sharper Image. At the time I thought the price was rather excessive, over $300. Though I do not smoke, I always want the cleanest air to breathe. The decision to purchase a solid, long-lasting air purifier came because I had wall-to-wall carpeting in the main rooms of the condominium, and I felt there was a dust build up that vacuuming was not adequately handling.

There were no filters with this model, and it alleged to use little electricity. So, I believe this would be a good means to control dust, odor, and pollens. For nearly all this time I have run the air purifier constantly. Almost immediately I was staggered by the amount of dust that it gathered weekly.

Cleaning the silvery rods with a wet cloth and drying them was simple and took only a few seconds, but I was stunned at how much dust it collected for me in between vacuums. After ten years, now in another condo, the Ionic Breeze continues to do its job, often needing less frequent cleanings itself. I have even had guests say that they can smell cleanliness emitted by the purifier.

If there is one complaint, it is that once in a while a friend will say, “What’s that noise?” and I realize it is the Ionic Breeze crackling a bit. It is asking to be cleaned. I have forgotten the sound it makes because it is so quiet. I have to say that this device has paid for itself, has never given me one whit of trouble, and is one of the gadgets I still use.
