Allergic to Dust Mites

What is the allergy you suffer from?

I am allergic to dust mites and suffer from severe bronchial asthma if I do dusting or cleaning up of the house.

At what age did it start for you?

It started around 10 years back when I was in my mid twenties have had this allergy since I was a child, however it got worse as I grew older.

What are the symptoms? and what discomfort do you go through?

Whenever I do dusting or sweep the floor then the allergy starts with sneezing, redness and watering of the eyes along with breathing problems.

There have been instances when I am awake all night because I could not sleep due to respiratory problems.

Is there a particular time of the year when it gets worse?

This is not a seasonal allergy.

Have you found a solution? If yes, how did you deal with it?

I normally do not carry any medications except a few tablets of antihistamine. For the past few years I have been under the treatment of my physician who knows my problems. She had told me to undergo allergy test and after that it was confirmed that it was mainly due to the dust mites that I suffer from this problem. She advised me to install an air purifier.

For the last two years I have been using Euro air Geneus in my room and it has been very effective. This particular purifier is from Eureka Forbes brand and uses a sensor technology, which detects a speck of dirt in the room and cleans it. I have mounted it on the wall and the air I breathe nowadays is clean and fresh air. It is very necessary to breathe fresh air due to increasing pollution.

Have you been able to get rid of them?What did you do to get rid of it?

Today I rarely have any breathing problem and whenever I sense something wrong, I sit in my room with the purifier in working mode.
